How YouTube Trending Insights Work

Riivla collects YouTube trending data daily from 9 countries using the official YouTube Data API v3. By comparing today's trending list with yesterday's, we identify which videos are new to trending, which climbed or fell in rank, and which left the list entirely.

The turnover rate measures what percentage of the trending list changed compared to the previous day. A high turnover rate means the trending content is rapidly changing, while a low rate suggests trending videos tend to stay longer.

Each country's trending list is independent and reflects the viewing preferences and cultural trends of that region. Comparing insights across countries reveals how content virality differs globally.
