What's Trending on YouTube
Right Now
Hottest videos, fastest-rising channels, and trending shifts across 9 countries. Refreshed every 24 hours.

What you can do with Riivla
Six ways to look at YouTube trends. Built for anyone who's ever wondered what happens behind the trending page.
Daily Trending Snapshot
Each day gets its own page: ranking changes, new entries, drops. You can compare any two days side by side.
Trending Videos
Which videos are climbing, which just showed up, and which disappeared. The movement tells you more than the list itself.
Channel Insights
Subscriber counts only tell part of the story. Here you can compare how often channels trend, how fast their videos gain views, and how long they stay on the chart.
Channel Power Rankings
A score based on how consistently a channel lands on trending. Helps you tell the difference between a viral hit and a regular presence.
Cross-Region Patterns
When a video shows up on trending in Brazil and Indonesia on the same day, that probably means something. We flag those overlaps.

Beyond the trending tab
What YouTube's trending page leaves out, and why that gap is worth filling.
YouTube's trending page shows you 50 videos, one country, right now. That's it. A music video that climbs from #47 to #3 overnight tells a completely different story than one that debuted at #1 and slowly faded. A gaming clip trending in Brazil, Indonesia, and India on the same day says something about what people across those regions care about. You can't see any of that from a single list.
Riivla keeps daily snapshots and compares them across regions. Over time, patterns show up: which categories dominate where, how fast videos rise and fall, what days of the week certain content peaks on, which creators keep appearing on the charts month after month. None of this is visible from one visit to YouTube's trending page.
If you watch YouTube and wonder why certain things trend, this is for you. If you make videos and want to know when and where to publish, the timing data is here. And if you study media or pop culture, there's a year of daily data across 9 countries to dig through.
How Ri:vla works
Raw API data goes in. Structured, comparable insights come out.
Daily Data Collection
Every day, we query the YouTube Data API v3 for each of the 9 supported countries — the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Indonesia, and India. The full trending list, video metadata, channel statistics, and engagement metrics are captured and stored.
Automated Analysis
Each day, the system calculates turnover rates, ranking changes, new entries, and drops. Weekly and monthly rollups make it possible to spot patterns that one snapshot would never show.
Structured Insights
The result: upload timing data by region, category rankings, channel power scores, and trending velocity. Everything is comparable across dates and countries.
